The Clay Studio (TCS) developed a three-year strategic plan at a critical moment in its history, with a new executive director and six years before the organization must relocate and leave its current facility. With the help of Partners in Performance, a national consulting firm specializing in arts nonprofits, TCS explored multiple scenarios for the future and weighed them according to facility and programming needs. The resulting plan is heavily based on constituent feedback—gathered from students, board members, and alumni artists throughout the process—and is aiding TCS in articulating and communicating the organization's mission to the public. As a result, TCS can better serve its various constituencies: clay artists and ceramic arts enthusiasts. 1
