InterAct Theatre Company has built a strong national reputation for producing new, contemporary plays that are socially and politically charged. As InterAct neared its 25th anniversary, it began strategic and business planning processes to pursue new areas of programming that focus on collaboration, including co-productions with regional and national theaters. Following this re-envisioning, the company has reached out to a greater variety of populations and communities in the Philadelphia region, and is now better positioned to properly utilize the skills of new board and staff members, and actively respond to changes in the economic climate. This discovery process led InterAct to a new strategic goal of turning its current home, Philadelphia's Adrienne Theater, into a more closely connected arts center, a project supported by a 2013 Discovery Grant. 1
