Independent artist Sara Felder received Center support to develop and produce Out of Sight: A Blind Comedy about God, Israel, and My Mom. This one-woman comedy tells the tale of a mother, nearly blind, and her adult lesbian daughter who bond over their love of art, but differ in their views of Israel. Through circus tricks, shadow puppets, and a Jewish queer sensibility, the daughter recounts her college trip to Israel as she begins questioning her mother's framework of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. As they try to bridge their differences, the intimacy and struggles of each character's view of the world and each other take shape.
