Edward Scissorhands
Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts
2006
$100,000
The Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts, presented choreographer Matthew Bourne's dance-theater adaptation of filmmaker Tim Burton's gothic fairy tale Edward Scissorhands, in which an artificial man with scissors for hands falls in love with a suburban girl, but is considered a danger because his hands cause inadvertent injuries. The show was presented at Philadelphia's Academy of Music in January 2007. Working with a number of regional educational partners, the Kimmel Center offered subsidized tickets and a master class taught by the cast.
