The Philadelphia Classical Symphony commissioned new works from composers Curt Cacioppo and Maurice Wright for Reawakenings of American Indian Music—New Music based on the Culture of the Lenape Indians. Performed alongside programs of American music, the new works were inspired by the culture of Lenape Indians and premiered at the Church of St. Luke and the Epiphany and Haverford College. The composers also participated in a series of educational school workshops and concerts presented at the Washington Elementary School and the Shawmont School in Philadelphia.
