Pig Iron Theatre Company developed and produced Welcome to Yuba City, a cowboy-clown odyssey presenting fragments of what the company called "a mythic American desertscape." Created by the Pig Iron ensemble, in collaboration with songwriter Michael Friedman and master clown teacher Giovanni Fusetti, Welcome to Yuba City featured a vast set inside a warehouse, designed by MacArthur Fellow Mimi Lien. Directed by Pew Fellow Gabriel Quinn Bauriedel (2002), the production starred Pew Fellows Geoff Sobelle (2006) and Dito van Reigersberg (2002), as well as James Sugg, Sarah Sanford, and other Pig Iron company members.
