Choreographer and 2007 Pew Fellow Nicole Cousineau collaborated with seven performance artists to create Still Unknown, an immersive dance-theater piece, working with designer Jorge Cousineau (2011 Pew Fellow), choreographer Olase Freeman, dance-theater artist Makoto Hirano, choreographer Christy Lee, performance artist Gin MacCallum, set designer Matt Saunders (2014 Pew Fellow), and composer James Sugg (2010 Pew Fellow). Still Unknown featured disparate environments created by each artist through lighting, set design, and movement. Audience members moved through each environment in an intimate and immersive journey in the work’s 2006 Philadelphia Fringe Festival premiere.
