First Person Arts, an organization that explores memoir and documentary art, prototyped a project which brought together diverse groups of people to create "museum exhibitions" documenting their lives. These projects were comprised of objects owned and cherished by the participants, stories about these objects, and interpretation that examined people's relationships to material objects in cultural and historical contexts. The exhibits were created, designed, and developed by the participants, and First Person Arts also worked with a team that included historians, museum specialists, a writer, a photographer, and a documentary filmmaker.
