Paul Robeson House Restoration

West Philadelphia Cultural Alliance

The West Philadelphia Cultural Alliance (WPCA) continued critical preservation and restoration work on the Paul Robeson House at 4951 Walnut Street, the last residence of the African American artist and Civil Rights activist. In addition to serving as a home for the interpretation of Robeson's legacy, the property is used by the WPCA as a community center for neighborhood arts education.

The West Philadelphia Cultural Alliance (WPCA) cultivates interest and support for the arts in West Philadelphia by increasing the visibility of the community's cultural resources, encouraging the professional development of local artists, and promoting positive social change through the arts. In 2008, WPCA received Center support to preserve and restore the Paul Robeson House, the last residence of the African American artist and Civil Rights activist.
