Charlotte Ford is a Philadelphia-based theater artist who creates slapstick performance art and clowns, with behaviors and physicalities that differ from her own. Among her interests is the exploration of what she calls "our rude, carnal, animal selves" and the up-ending of cultural power dynamics, especially gender-based ones. In recent years, the Center has provided support to Chicken and Bang, two of Ford's original, collaboratively devised works. Culturebot hailed Bang as a "ribald comedic event, glorying in audience participation."
