Gas & Electric Arts commissioned Cabinet of Wonders, An Impossible History, a new play by Kira Obolensky. Inspired by the playwright's recently uncovered Russian family history, Cabinet of Wonders demonstrates how family stories are passed on through generations. The play follows two immigrant siblings on the edge of eviction as they debate salvation strategies and tussle over family possessions stashed in their ancestral cabinets. Directed by Lisa Jo Epstein, the production included an elaborate set designed by visual artist Irve Dell.
