Thomas Allen Harris of Chimpanzee Productions is an award-winning filmmaker and "cultural warrior" whose documentary films, installations, and experimental videos have been featured internationally on television, at festivals, and in museums and galleries. For over six years, Harris produced for public television, and received two Emmy nominations in 1991. Additional projects include multimedia installations at Gwangju Biennial in Korea, the Corcoran Gallery of Art in Washington, DC, New Langton Arts in San Francisco and the Long Beach Museum of Art. Currently, he is the project director of Digital Diaspora Family Reunion, a multimedia community engagement initiative where individuals are encouraged to explore the rich and revealing historical narratives found within their own family photograph collections. Harris is a recipient of numerous awards and fellowships including United States Artist Award, Guggenheim Fellowship, Rockefeller Fellowship, as well as CPB/PBS and Sundance Directors Fellowships. He served as a Center Pew Fellowships panelist in 2011.
