Sarah Workneh is co-director of Skowhegan School of Painting & Sculpture, where she directs the organization’s core educational program and works with Skowhegan alumni to produce off-site programs. She also serves on the board of the Colby College Museum of Art and the advisory committee of the Somerset Cultural Planning Commission in Maine. Prior to her tenure at Skowhegan, Workneh worked at Ox-Bow School of Art and Artists' Residency. As a writer, she was the first guest editor of Art Papers magazine, and has been a contributing writer to Pastelegram, Kaleidoscope, and others. Workneh has pursued coursework toward her MA in Interdisciplinary Studies at DePaul University and holds a BA in Linguistics and Russian from the University of Maryland In 2017, she served as an LOI panelist in Exhibitions & Public Interpretation.
