Kelly Kivland is a writer, artist, and associate curator at Dia Art Foundation. Since 2011, she has curated projects including Isabel Lewis’ Occasions (2016), Steve Paxton’s Selected Works (2014), and served as assistant curator for Thomas Hirschhorn’s Gramsci Monument (2013). At Dia, she also curates the “Artists on Artists” lecture series, and has commissioned “Artists’ Web Projects” from artists including Laylah Ali, Daniel Lefcourt, and Nick Mauss and Ken Okiishi. Kivland is currently working with artists Renata Lucas, Cecilia Bengolea & François Chaignaud, and Joëlle Tuerlinckx on future commissions. Prior to joining Dia, she served in the Commissioner’s Office at the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs and at Pomegranate Arts, a performing arts organization dedicated to the production of contemporary performance. In 2015, 2016, and 2017, Kivland served as a panelist in Performance. In 2017, she also served as an LOI panelist in Performance and Exhibitions & Public Interpretation.
