Kelley Rourke

Kelley Rourke is a librettist, translator, and dramaturg who serves as resident dramaturg for the Washington National Opera and The Glimmerglass Festival. Her modern English adaptations of operas have been commissioned and performed by numerous opera companies, including English National Opera, Welsh National Opera, Boston Lyric Opera, Scottish Opera, and Opera Theatre of Saint Louis. Rourke’s upcoming projects include The Secret Gardener for On Site Opera and The Atlanta Opera, and an evening-length work with composer John Glover for Del Sol String Quartet and baritone Jesse Blumberg. Rourke is an accomplished translator, and her supertitle translations are used by dozens of opera companies across the country. Previously, Rourke served as founding editor of OPERA America Magazine and was a contributor to The Grove Dictionary of American Music. In 2017, she served as an LOI panelist in Performance.
