Ellen Lauren is a founding member and co-artistic director of Saratoga International Theater Institute (SITI) Company, an ensemble-based theater group in New York City. From 2003–08, she served as associate director of Suzuki Company of Toga’s summer training program in Japan. Lauren has performed at venues across the country, including the Walker Art Center, New York Live Arts, Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, and The Joyce Theater; and internationally in Moscow, Edinburgh, Melbourne, Jerusalem, and Buenos Aires. She is a founding member of the International Symposium on the Suzuki Method of Actor Training, and has been a faculty member at The Juilliard School since 1995, where she teaches the Suzuki method of acting. Lauren is a regular guest artist at Theatre Academy of the University of the Arts Helsinki; University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA); and University of Windsor; and has been on the faculty of Columbia University and Fordham University. In 2017 and 2018, Lauren served as a Center LOI panelist in Performance.
