Daniel Felsenfeld is a Brooklyn-based composer and writer. He has been commissioned to create works for organizations including The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Opera San Jose, The Kitchen, Galapagos Art Space, and Harvard University. He is currently composing an opera inspired by unpublished writings of author David Foster Wallace, and an opera based on the life of biologist Dr. Alfred Kinsey. Felsenfeld has collaborated on orchestrations for pop artists including Jay-Z, Alicia Keys, The Roots, How to Dress Well, and Reggie Watts. He has participated in residencies at Yaddo, The MacDowell Colony, The Hermitage Artist Retreat, and the Atlantic Center for the Arts. He completed his MA and Ph.D. at the New England Conservatory. In 2017, Felsenfeld served as an LOI panelist in Performance.
