Bonnie Clearwater is director and chief curator at the NSU Art Museum Fort Lauderdale, where she leads the development of exhibition programs and the expansion of education initiatives and public programming. Over the past two decades, she has presented solo exhibitions for artists including Tracey Emin, Teresita Fernandez, Jonathan Meese, Frank Stella, Roy Lichtenstein, and Helen Frankenthaler. Clearwater previously served as executive director of the Museum of Contemporary Art, North Miami and Lannan Foundation Art Program, and was curator at the Mark Rothko Foundation, the Leonard and Evelyn Lauder Collection, and the Peter Norton Family collection. She has written extensively on modern and contemporary art, including the publications The Rothko Book, Edward Ruscha: Words Without Thoughts Never to Heaven Go, Roy Lichtenstein: Inside/Outside, and Frank Stella at 2000: Changing the Rules. In 2016, Clearwater served as an LOI panelist in Performance.
