Bob and Roberta Smith, also known as Patrick Brill, is a British contemporary artist working in text, persona, and public space. He was an artist member of the Tate Board from 2009 to 2013, and is currently a trustee for the National Campaign for the Arts and an Associate Professor at London Metropolitan University. In 2013, he launched the Art Party, a loose grouping of artists and organizations who are deeply concerned about the British Government diminishing the role of art and design in schools.

Smith's work was part of the Center-funded Framing Fraktur at the Free Library of Philadelphia in 2015, which exhibited contemporary text-based art alongside historical Pennsylvania German fraktur.
