Judy Hussie-Taylor (Chair) has served as Executive Director and Chief Curator of Danspace Project since 2008, where her theme-based PLATFORM series has mobilized artists as advocates and curators within the field. As the chief curator of Danspace Project, Hussie-Taylor engaged in major curatorial collaborations with the Museum of Modern Art's Simone Forti project, Madison Square Park Conservancy's Josiah McElheny installation, and Times Square Arts' site-specific dance festival.
She served as an advisor and faculty for Wesleyan University's Institute for Curatorial Practice in Performance (2011-2021). She was appointed Chevalier de l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres by France’s Ministry of Culture in 2014 and received a Bessie Award—the first ever awarded to a curator—in 2017. Prior to Danspace, Hussie-Taylor lived in Colorado, where she contributed to the artistic and administrative leadership of Colorado Dance Festival (1990–1998); Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art (1998–2004); and the Museum of Contemporary Art/Denver (2005–2007). She also served on the faculty of the University of Colorado Boulder’s Department of Art and Art History (2000–2005).
