Privacy Statement

The information that we obtain through your use of the website, whether through the registration process, grant application system, or otherwise, is subject to this privacy statement. 

1. Information We Collect

The Pew Center for Arts & Heritage (Center) collects information about you when you interact with our website.  Information that we collect may depend on how you interact with the Center and use the website.  The types of information that we may collect include: name; company or organization name; email address; phone number; age; interests in supporting the Center programs; availability; mailing address; information obtained through our surveys to help inform our programming, including demographic information; information about how you use our website, such as analytic and statistical data; referring/exit pages; clickstream data; marketing campaign data, click-throughs, your preferences and consent to receiving marketing from us and third parties; your communication preferences; and information you submit in a grant application. 

2. How We Collect Information

The Center collects information from you in different ways, including, when you:  complete any form, survey, questionnaire, or other request of information from the Center; sign up to the Center’s community to receive our newsletter; submit an inquiry; or submit a grant application to our grant application system linked to this website. 

As you navigate around the website, certain information can be collected using various technologies to help us personalize your experience.  This information may include internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, operating system, date/time stamp, time zone setting and location, language preferences, device type and ID, and other technical information from the devices you use to access our website. 

We and our service providers also use cookies, pixels, and other tracking technology to recognize your browser or device and to capture and remember certain information about your activities on our website with the purpose of delivering customized and personalized services.  You can view and delete existing cookies through your browser.  If you do not want to store cookies on your computer, you can set your browser to refuse cookies or to alert you when cookies are being sent. You cannot decline pixel tags; however, if you turn off cookies the pixel tag will simply detect an anonymous visit.  Please note that some parts of the website may not function properly if you choose not to accept cookies.

We may receive information about you from third parties.  We may associate this information with the other information we have collected about you as described in this statement.  The collection, use, and disclosure of information received from third parties may be governed by the third parties’ privacy policies. Please carefully review these third-party privacy policies before submitting your information to a third-party application or otherwise interacting with it to understand how your information may be collected, used, and disclosed by these third parties.  We have no control over, and cannot and do not assume responsibility for, the data collection and privacy practices employed by any of these third parties or their services. 

Some web browsers incorporate a Do Not Track (“DNT”) feature that signals to the websites that you visit that you do not want to have your online activity tracked.  At this time, our website does not respond to DNT signals.

Third parties providing services on our behalf: The Center may employ other companies and individuals to perform functions on our behalf.  Examples include, without limitation, hosting and administering this website, hosting or administering the Center’s grant application system, analyzing data using tracking tools including, but not limited to, web beacons, and sending communications on our behalf.  These third parties may have access to this website’s user information, including personally identifiable information, in order to perform these functions on our behalf. 

Legal protection: The Center may transfer and disclose information about our users, including personally identifiable information, and may use IP addresses to identify users in cooperation with internet service providers or law enforcement agencies, to comply with a legal obligation, at the request of governmental authorities conducting an investigation, to verify or enforce compliance with the policies governing the website and applicable laws, or to protect the legal rights, interests, or safety of the Center, the website, our users or others.

Organizational Transactions: We may share your information with successors, predecessors, assigns, grantors, licensees and others, when necessary, who may use the information for the purposes described in this statement.

This privacy statement does not apply to any information that you may disclose publicly in user forums. The Center bears no responsibility for any action, inaction, or policies of any third parties who collect information that users may disclose in user forums or other public areas of this website. By using this website, you accept our privacy practices as outlined in this privacy statement.  If you are unwilling to accept the terms and conditions of this privacy statement, we ask that you not use the website.  The Center reserves the right to modify, alter or otherwise update this privacy statement at any time.  If this privacy statement changes, the revised statement will be posted on this website.

You acknowledge that this website and all of its current and future content, including, without limitation, content in the form of text, graphics, messages, posts, data, information and other materials (collectively, the “Content”) whether provided by The Pew Center for Arts & Heritage (Center) or provided by third-parties, is protected by copyrights, trademarks, patents, or other proprietary rights and laws. You may only use the Content as expressly set forth in this Agreement or as expressly authorized by us in a separate writing.  UNAUTHORIZED USE, COPYING, REPRODUCTION, MODIFICATION, REPUBLISHING, UPLOADING, DOWNLOADING, POSTING, TRANSMITTING, DISTRIBUTING, DUPLICATING, OR ANY OTHER MISUSE OF ANY OF THE CONTENT IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED. 

Subject to your compliance with these terms, the Center hereby grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, revocable, and non-transferable license to access, download, reproduce, reprint and view the Center-owned text-based Content for non-commercial purposes, provided that the following copyright notice appears in all copies: “(c) [insert year of display or printout] The Pew Charitable Trusts.” Permission to reproduce these text materials for any other uses not permitted here must be obtained from the Center in writing prior to reproduction.  All requests should be directed to the website content and publications specialist at info@pewcenterarts.org.  Those text materials contained in this website that are owned by other copyright owners may not be reproduced without the prior written consent of those copyright owners, regardless of the intended use. The text materials contained in this website may not be modified in any way.  You must retain all copyright, trademark and other proprietary notices contained in the original Content or any copy you may make of the Content.

If a court or other tribunal of competent jurisdiction decides to award monetary damages to you for any claim or cause of action despite the foregoing limitation of liability for damages, the amount of monetary damages for such claim or cause of action shall not exceed one hundred U.S.  dollars ($100).
