Ari Benjamin Meyers is a composer, conductor, founder, and artistic director for Kunsthalle for Music at Witte de With Center for Contemporary Art in the Netherlands, Public Art Munich, and the Liverpool Biennial of Contemporary Art. Trained at The Juilliard School, Yale University, and the Peabody Institute, Meyers explores structures and processes that redefine the performative, social, and ephemeral nature of music. He has written numerous compositions for the stage, among them three operas. His chamber opera Nico. Sphinx aus Eis was commissioned by the Semperoper Dresden in Germany. Meyers was music director of the staged group show Il Tempo del Postino curated by Hans Ulrich Obrist and Philippe Parreno (Manchester International Festival, 2007; Art Basel, 2009). The book Music on Display (2016), published by Walther König, chronicles his work and practice. In 2018, Meyers served as a Center LOI panelist in Performance.
