Zoe Strauss: Billboard Project
The Philadelphia Museum of Art hosted a January 2012 tour of the locations of billboards upon which Zoe Strauss's photographs were displayed during her exhibition, Zoe Strauss: Ten Years. Starting in South Philly, the tour group live-tweeted the day's events and traveled through Philly to 15th and Vine and 30th Street Station. The mid-career retrospective was supported by The Pew Center for Arts & Heritage.
"The Billboard Project" officially launched on January 12 with 54 billboards in total. Click here to view an image, description, and location of each billboard that was installed for the duration of the exhibition. The project revolved thematically around The Odyssey, which focuses on an epic homecoming, and was a large-scale version of Strauss' annual I-95 exhibitions.
