Sarah Sze Residency at The Fabric Workshop and Museum in Newsworks
Sarah Sze's installations, on view at the Fabric Workshop and Museum through April 6, 2014 with funding from The Pew Center for Arts & Heritage, received recent media attention from WHYY's Newsworks.
Newsworks' Peter Crimmins explores the notion of landscapes "natural, man-made, and imagined" in the three floors of Sze's installation. "Sze took over all three galleries at the venue with three different installations—each taking a different approach to man-made objects versus natural, order versus chaos, and the warping of perception," Crimmins writes. Sze, in speaking about the installations, including the next iteration of fabricated rocks that made their debut appearance at the 2013 Venice Biennale, said: "how do you represent a landscape? That's an interest in how you locate yourself in the world. Those things come together." Read more >
