In conjunction with the current exhibition Yael Bartana: And Europe Will be Stunned, the Philadelphia Museum of Art hosts a community conversation on the topic of memory. The discussion asks participants to consider the questions: How have your personal and collective memories shaped who you are today? What are the ways that memories inform your sense of past, present, and future?
On view through January 2019, Bartana’s solo exhibition takes the complex history of Jewish-Polish identity as its point of departure in addressing themes of nationhood, memory, and belonging that are integral to her work.
