WXPN Concert Featuring Leon Chavis & The Zydeco Flames + Koray Broussard & The Zydeco Unit
7 p.m. - 12:30 a.m.
Join WXPN for two free Zydeco Crossroads performances, featuring Leon Chavis & The Zydeco Flames and Koray Broussard & The Zydeco Unit. Each performance features both groups. All ages are welcome at the 7 p.m. show, and only those 18 and above will be admitted to the 10:30 p.m. show.
Supported by The Pew Center for Arts & Heritage, Zydeco Crossroads captures the vitality of contemporary zydeco music, with project highlights that include free concerts at World Cafe Live; Philadelphia Folk Festival performances; community events with local music and dance group Allons Danser; and the premiere of a newly commissioned zydeco documentary by filmmaker Robert Mugge. Visit the Zydeco Crossroads website, an "interactive history" and ongoing archive.
Though tickets are free, reservations are strongly encouraged.
