In conjunction with the Center-funded Words Adorned: Andalusian Poetry and Music, Al-Bustan Seeds of Culture presents a talk on the sound and scent in the Andalusian Garden by Dr. Dede Fairchild Ruggles of the Department of Landscape Architecture at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. Dr. Ruggles will discuss how scholars study the sensory experiences of the past, given that the ephemeral effects of scented flowers and fleeting sounds leave so few traces.

Free. No RSVP required.
