Unknown Parallels with Taji Ra’oof Nahl
6:30 - 8 p.m.
As part of the Institute of Contemporary Art's Ulysses Jenkins: Without Your Interpretation exhibition, Philadelphia artist Taji Ra’oof Nahl presents video works from his catalog and speaks with moderators Enrique Morales and Will Owen, both lecturers at the University of Pennsylvania. The conversation will highlight connections between Nahl's and Ulysses Jenkins' work, including their video editing techniques, interdisciplinary practices, approaches to collaboration, and social commentary.
Ulysses Jenkins: Without Your Interpretation is a major retrospective spotlighting the pioneering work of the titular artist, including video work, mural paintings, photography, and the restaging of two of his major performance works, Bay Window (1991) and Talking Hut (1994)
