Staying Power Civic Fair
12:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.
The Village of Arts and Humanities hosts an in-person and online civic fair for community members of the Fairhill-Hartranft neighborhood and beyond as the culminating public event of the Village’s program series Staying Power.
With events led by many of the Staying Power neighborhood curatorial fellows, the fair includes workshops and talks on maintaining property, tenants' rights, fathering and fatherhood, homeschooling (in a pandemic and beyond), gentrification, and youth voice. The event also features an artist talk with Staying Power artist Sadie Barnette and Pew Fellow Tiona Nekkia McClodden about the role of Black private/home spaces in cultural production.
Curated by Monument Lab, Staying Power is a public art exhibition and program series in the Fairhill-Hartranft neighborhood of Philadelphia that asks artists, neighborhood residents, and visitors the questions: What is your staying power in this neighborhood? What is your staying power in a city and world that are rapidly changing?
Face masks are required for the in-person event. The festival will also be available to view virtually through Instagram and Instagram Live @TheVillagePhilly or @Monument_Lab.
