Sakura Concert Series & Shofuso Cherry Blossom Festival

Japan America Society of Greater Philadelphia (JASGP) presents the Sakura Concert Series, a new three-day event building off JASGP’s annual Shofuso Cherry Blossom Festival. Developed in partnership with nearby Parkside neighborhood communities, the series highlights the intersection of Japanese and African American culture with performances by hip-hop, jazz, and percussion artists.

JASGP’s work to restructure its approach to its cultural festivals with the goal of making programming more inclusive and deepening community relationships is supported by a Center recovery grant.
