"Representing the Veteran Experience"
8:30 p.m. - 10:30 p.m.
Veterans of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan worked extensively with the cast and creative team of Don Juan Comes Home from Iraq. Following the Wilma Theater's performance of Don Juan on Tuesday, April 1, veterans will speak about the challenges of representing their experiences artistically.
Participants will include: BR McDonald, Iraq veteran and founder of the Veteran Arts Program, which works with artist/veterans to mainstream their creative work; Lynn Hill-Torres, a former drone operator, poet, and performer whose work can be heard on the album Holding It Down: The Veterans Dream Project; and local veterans who contributed to the exhibit From War To Home, which is on display in the Wilma lobby throughout the run of Don Juan Comes Home from Iraq.
