Organized in conjunction with the ongoing Center-funded reFORM project, Temple Contemporary hosts a discussion with Feather Houstoun, member of the Philadelphia School Reform Commission and senior adviser to the Wyncote Foundation. Houston will speak about her experience as a member of the commission, as it connects to themes explored in reFORM.

In 2013, two-dozen Philadelphia schools were shuttered by city authorities in an effort to close a budget deficit. With Center support, Temple Contemporary commissioned reFORM, a new installation by 2006 Pew Fellow and MacArthur Fellow Pepón Osorio that responds to these closings—specifically addressing the loss of a single elementary school in North Philadelphia, not far from Temple University. On view through May 20, 2016, the installation serves as a living exhibition and discussion space for those most impacted by this particular closing.
