Students at the closed Fairhill Elementary School on May 1, 2015 for the launch of Temple Contemporary’s Center-funded reFORM.

Join Temple Contemporary for the opening of reFORM, a major installation by artist and Pew Fellow Pepón Osorio. Funded by The Pew Center for Arts & Heritage, reFORM is an immersive exhibition and a classroom that will be used by residents of the Fairhill neighborhood and Temple University students. Many of the materials used in the building of reFORM—from the floor to the ceiling—have been salvaged from the Fairhill Elementary School that was closed by the Philadelphia School District's School Reform Commission in 2013. Osorio's artistic process for this project is guided by months of conversations with students, parents, teachers, and administrators from Fairhill as well as previous members of the School Reform Commission.
