Raphstravaganza
Hip-hop artist and Pew Fellow Raphael Xavier (2013) presents Raphstravaganza, a contemporary circus-style performance featuring street performers, extreme BMX riders, acrobatic contortionists, and live music. The day-long event will include performances by saxophonist, composer, and Pew Fellow Bobby Zankel (1996), choreographer and "krutch master" Bill Shannon, street hip-hop acrobat and contortionist Tylon Moore, professional BMX rider Matt Wilhelm, and additional Philadelphia performers.
A set of four, 30-minute choreographed performances will be structured throughout the courtyard space and will pay tribute to the soul of the city, inviting discovery of urban street dance and movement.
This event is free and open to the public. Show times are 12 p.m., 2 p.m., 4 p.m., 6 p.m. with additional entertainment, face painting, and vendors between shows.
