As part of the its multi-part project Creative Africa, supported by a Center Advancement grant, the Philadelphia Museum of Art presents portrait of myself as my father, a dance work by Zimbabwean dancer Nora Chipaumire, presented as part of the curated portion of the 2016 Fringe Festival. portrait of myself as my father is an exploration of masculinity, Africa, and the body that takes place within a boxing ring. The work will be performed by Chipaumire, accompanied by Senegalese dancer Pape Ibrahima Ndiaye (Kaolack) and Jamaican-born Brooklyn-based dancer Shamar Watt.
