As part of the project Philadelphia Real Book Concerts - New Music in Jazz and Blues, Jazz Bridge presents one of a four concerts celebrating the region's rich jazz heritage. The concert will feature sets by jazz guitarist Pat Martino and jazz pianist and Pew Fellow Uri Caine. A panel focusing on the neuroscience of music and improvisation will be held in between the two performances.
The Philadelphia Real Book Concerts are inspired by Jazz Bridge's Philadelphia Real Book—the first published collection of compositions by the city's jazz artists. The project aims to stimulate a local jazz renaissance by presenting performances by jazz legends alongside regional musicians.
