Christ Church Preservation Trust presents a live preview of The Philadelphia Matter - 1972/2020. At the weekly Christ Church Farmer’s Market on Wednesday, September 2, and Wednesday, September 9, from 4 to7 p.m., see socially distanced dancers perform material from the show, choreographed by postmodern pioneer David Gordon.

The Philadelphia Matter - 1972/2020 is the latest installment of Gordon’s foundational work The Matter, first produced in 1972 and most recently recreated for MoMA in 2018. The hour-long screen work is made in collaboration with videographer, editor, and Pew Fellow Jorge Cousineau, assembling the new performances with archival pieces. The show will have its ticketed premiere on September 10 and be available to view online for the duration of the 2020 Philadelphia Fringe Festival.
