The Object Lesson

18 - 22 Feb 2015
Harbourfront Centre Theatre, Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Illusionist and performer Geoff Sobelle's The Object Lesson unpacks the material components of memory. From the depths of a glittering sky-high junkpile installation, Sobelle produces an impossible profusion of artifacts. The objects he presents recount a story of life and love and seem to contain the past itself. Combining charmingly simple delivery and meticulous stagecraft, The Object Lesson is a meditation on the things we keep and the things we throw away.

Supported by The Pew Center for Arts & Heritage, The Object Lesson premiered at the 2013 FringeArts Festival with subsequent productions at Summerhall Festival in Edinburgh (August 2014: winner of the Carol Tambor Best of Edinburgh Award) and the BAM Next Wave Festival (November 2014).

February 18–22, The Object Lesson will have a Canadian premiere at the Harbourfront Centre in Toronto, Ontario.
