Dolce Suono Ensemble with Eric Owens, bass-baritone. Conversation with the Composers moderated by music journalist Peter Burwasser Program: Mahler's "Lieder eines fahrenden Gesellen" (arr. Schoenberg); Schoenberg's "Fantasy for Violin and Piano, Op. 47", and premieres by Steven Stucky Stucky, Steven Mackey, Fang Man, David Ludwig, and Stratis Minakakis. Dolce Suono Ensemble: Mimi Stillman, flute; Paul Demers, clarinet;Juliette Kang, violin; Noah Geller, violin; Burchard Tang, viola; Yumi Kendall, cello; Rob Kesselman, double bass; Charles Abramovic, piano; Gabe Globus-Hoenich, percussion and Jeremy Gill, harmonium. Dolce Suono Ensemble's Mahler 100 / Schoenberg 60 Project is a two-year project throughout 2011, marking the centennial of Gustav Mahler's death and the 60th anniversary of the death of Arnold Schoenberg.

The project will include performances of chamber and vocal works by these two iconic composers, along with the premieres of 6 new commissioned works reflecting on Mahler and Schoenberg by some of today's most eminent established composers and most promising emerging composers: Steven Stucky, Steven Mackey, Fang Man, David Ludwig, and Stratis Minakakis in Year 1 and Shulamit Ran in Year 2. Celebrated vocalists Eric Owens, bass-baritone, and Lucy Shelton, soprano, will join the Dolce Suono Ensemble
