Kanaval: Lakou Mizik in Performance

WXPN presents the Haitian collective Lakou Mizik in a performance at World Café Live, part of the series Kanaval: Haitian Rhythms & The Music of New Orleans.

The eight-piece, multigenerational Lakou Mizik uses the healing spirit of music to communicate a message of pride, strength, and hope for their country in this free performance event.

Kanaval examines Haitian influences on the music, culture, and community of New Orleans, contextualizing Haiti as a historically important nation through its considerable artistic and musical traditions.

Doors open at 7 p.m. with a DJ set by DJ J-STAR.
