As part of the Philadelphia Museum of Art's Art After 5 series, avant-garde vocal icon Joan LaBarbara will sing Feldman's "Three Voices" (1982), accompanied by her own voice on two channels of pre-recorded sound; Feldman composed the piece with her in mind. The lush vocal texture of Three Voices, which stealthily incorporates a brief text by O'Hara, is unique in Feldman's music, and should resonate beautifully in the Museum's two-story atrium space. LaBarbara's performance will be preceded by a set from the Brooklyn-based improv-rock band Zs.
