The PRISM Quartet presents Heritage/Evolution, a three-concert series at World Café Live featuring world premieres of new works composed and performed by today's most inventive jazz saxophonists: Steve Lehman, Dave Liebman, Rudresh Mahanthappa, Greg Osby, Tim Ries, and Miguel Zenón.

Heritage/Evolution charts fresh musical territory, drawing on the saxophone's cross-cultural heritage to blend jazz with everything from Western and South Indian classical music to Romani and Latin American folkloric music.

This event will be a New York performance of the second concert of the Heritage/Evolution series, featuring new compositions by Tim Ries and Miguel Zenón. Multiple Grammy nominee and Guggenheim and MacArthur Fellow Zenón is widely considered one of the most influential saxophonists of his generation. Ries is a versatile and thoughtful saxophonist and composer, as well as a former member of PRISM, who currently tours with the Rolling Stones.

Please check the Symphony Space website for information on Heritage/Evolution 1: Steve Lehman and Rudresh Mahanthappa on April 12, and Heritage/Evolution 3: PRISM with Dave Liebman and Greg Osby on June 12.
