In conjunction with its devised theater work Hello Blackout!, New Paradise Laboratories presents a series of discussions that invite audiences to participate in conversations with thinkers and art makers to explore the philosophical themes within Hello Blackout!.
Hello Blackout! is created by NPL artistic director and Pew Fellow Whit MacLaughlin and composer and Pew Fellow Bhob Rainey. Part horror, part philosophical investigation, the work centers on anomalous triplets who live in a derelict mansion made of numbers, far from those who lead conventional, non-mathematical lives. Under the watchful eye of "Moth," the siblings communicate in a private language comprised of body sounds and semaphore.
WTF (Welcome: The Future!) Sessions will take place on September 9 at 12 p.m., September 16 at 12 p.m., and September 17 at 8 p.m. at the Proscenium Theater at The Drake.
