habitus: Conversation with Ann Hamilton and Maria Popova
6pm - 7:30pm
In conjunction with the ongoing exhibition habitus, The Fabric Workshop and Museum presents a conversation between visual artist Ann Hamilton and author and art critic Maria Popova, who will respond to each other's work and share insights into their associative processes.
This event is free and open to the public; registration is encouraged.
habitus is an exhibition created by artist Ann Hamilton that weaves text, textile, and image together as mediums for an imaginative and tactile exchange between artist and audience. An exhibition of new works by Hamilton alongside a selection of historical objects, including literature, textiles, dolls, and needlework portfolios, is on view at The Fabric Workshop and Museum through January 8. From September-October 2016, a site-specific installation at Municipal Pier 9 propelled visitors into an immersive atmosphere of massive cylindrical curtains.
