A selection of collaborative works on paper and textile created by participants of Swarthmore College’s Friends, Peace, and Sanctuary (FPS) project is on view at Booklyn Art Gallery. The project brought together book artists and members of Philadelphia’s Iraqi and Syrian refugee communities to create artists’ books that amplify personal narratives of displacement, immigration, and sanctuary. Using the Swarthmore College Peace Collection as a primary resource, the program included a series of workshops, events, a comprehensive project catalog, and four exhibitions on view throughout the Philadelphia area.
