Jules Massenet’s late career masterpiece is a lyrical ode to Don Quixote. The work is based loosely on the Cervantes novel of the same name and immediately inspired by the play Le chevalier de la longue by Jacques Le Lorrain. A flirtatious local beauty inspires an infatuated old man’s adventures. Academy of Vocal Arts alumnus Burak Bilgili returns to sing the title role.
