The Philadelphia Chamber Music Society presents Waywardness, the second of three concerts presented in the Departure and Discovery series. The work of Schumann, Gesualdo, Brahms, and Mozart will be performed to evoke themes of fragility, unconventionality, and playfulness explored by the composers late in their careers. Violist Hsin-Yun Huang joins The Brentano Quartet and pianist Jonathan Biss for this performance.
Departure and Discovery: New Directions at the Apex of Creativity is a concert series featuring three performances providing new insights into the forms of expression found in the late stages of the lives of nine great composers, including Bach, Beethoven, Mozart, and Schubert.
