MacArthur Fellow and visual artist Ann Hamilton leads a workshop exploring the intersection of texts and textiles in modern literature at the Free Library of Philadelphia. Participants are encouraged to bring their own books, which will be sourced for language referencing the cultural and material life of cloth. Participants' selections will be posted online as part of a communally-authored "commonplace" collection. The compilation of texts will help shape Hamilton's forthcoming Center-funded exhibition, habitus, to be presented at The Fabric Workshop and Museum in September 2016.

This event is free and open to the public.
