Cliveden Conversation: Gun Laws from the Revolution to Today with Jacob Charles
7 p.m.
In an online program as part of Cliveden of the National Trust’s Considering Re-enactments: The Battle of Germantown in the Light of 21st-Century Gun Violence, Jacob Charles, executive director of the Center for Firearms Law at Duke University, will discuss the evolution of American gun legislation from the time of the nation’s founding through today. A facilitated conversation will follow.
Considering Re-enactments is a project designed to engage the Germantown community in a dialogue around Cliveden’s signature event, the Revolutionary Germantown Festival, in light of modern-day gun violence. The goal is to inform future interpretations and reenactments of the Battle of Germantown that more deeply resonate with the community.
This event is free but advanced registration is recommended.
