"Body Against Body" master class with Janet Wong

The Painted Bride Art Center presents a piece of living dance history as Bill T. Jones revives his avant-garde roots. The pieces in Body Against Body address themes of race and sexual orientation in small-scale duets. Both conceptually and physically rigorous, the dances take on new life through the diverse dancers of Jones’s company.

This technique/master class is geared towards pre-professional and professional dancers, based on the style and movement sensibility developed by Bill T. Jones and Janet Wong. The workshop covers precision, range, and the ability to cover space in movement, integrating and borrowing values from modern, postmodern, and classical traditions. This two-hour class will be conducted with a live accompaniment. Space is limited, advanced registration required.
